Municipal Elections 2000

Since 2002, Republic of Kosovo has held five elections. The first local self-government elections were held on 28 October 2000. Number of citizens of Kosovo who have voted in those elections was 913,179, while voter turnout at the polls was 79%. The formula features a single constituency, open party lists. Pooling was developed in 30 electoral zones. From 920 seats were selected 869 advisors and in three municipalities were nominated. It was voted in 1.464 Polling Stations and there were 380 Polling Stations. Thirteen thousand nine hundred and seventy six observers observed those elections.


Municipal Elections 2002

Kosovo held second elections for a local government on 26 October 2002. Number of citizens of Kosovo who have voted in those this election was 1320.481, turnout at the polls were 54%.. This election was closed list, and it voted only for political subject. Political subjects nominate their candidates in the list. A third of MP candidates are determined on the gender basis. There were total of 30 electoral areas. Nine hundred and twenty advisors are selected and there were no reserved seats. Was voted in 1.727 Polling Stations and there were 503Polling Centers.


Municipal Elections 2004

Elections for the Kosovo Assembly were held on 23 October 2004. Number of voters in these elections was 1,412,680, while voter turnout was 49.52%. Those elections were closed list, and it was voted only for political subject. Political subjects nominate their candidates in the list. There was one electoral zone (Kosovo). Hundred deputies were elected and there were no reserved seats. A third of MP candidates are determined on the gender basis. Number of Polling Station was 1.662 and 557 was number of Polling centers. For Special Need Voting were 86 teams were organized for 5.306 voters Twelve thousand nine hundred and sixteen observers observed the elections.

2007 Municipal elections were held in Kosovo on November 17, at the same time as elections to the Assembly of Kosovo, with a second round for the mayoral elections held on December 8. The elections were held in Kosovo's thirty municipalities, and for the first time, local mayors were directly elected Number of citizens of Kosovo who have voted in this election was 1454. 174. The elections provided 100deputies for the Assembly of Kosovo, the 920 municipal assembly’s adviser, 30 for the mayors, and appointments were made in five municipalities / four mayors appointed. There were 20 reserved seats for the Assembly of Kosovo. A third of MP candidates are determined on the gender basis. In these elections were 2.323 polling stations and 621 polling centers. For Special Need Voting were 108 teams were organized for 6.372 voters. Twenty-seven thousand observers observed the elections.

Number of citizens of Kosovo who have voted for mayor, was a total of: 612. 513. Participation in polls in Kosovo was 41.74% while total: 39.07%. In Kosovo, 607,022 people have voted. Number of by mail ballots was 5.491. During voting, are counted 589,050 valid ballots, while 12,699 or 2.07% were invalid. Number of blank ballots was 10,769 or 1.76%.
