First Conference, CEC: All polling stations are open in the Republic of Kosovo
Pristina, 14 February 2021, 08:00 – The Central Election Commission held the first conference on Election Day for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
The CEC spokesman, Valmir Elezi announced that according to the plans with the operation plan, in the early hours of the morning, the election material was distributed, including the ballots papers, to all polling stations.
“Also, we inform you that all polling stations, 888, with a total of 2 thousand 382 polling stations were opened at the scheduled time,” he said.
In this first conference of the CEC were presented the data regarding the number of citizens with the right to vote, which according to the final list of voters are: 1 million 794 thousand 862 citizens with the right to vote.
The Central Election Commission calls all citizens with the right of vote to use their constitutional right to vote.
The number of political entities certified to participate in these elections is 28, while the total number of candidates for deputy is 1 thousand 52 candidates.
Also, knowing that election observation it has special importance, not only for the CEC, because it helps to increase credibility in the electoral process, The CEC has accredited 18 embassies with 146 observers; 6 international organizations and institutions with 37 observers; 1 public institution with 43 observers; 26 local non-governmental organizations with 1 thousand 713 observers; 23 political entities 26 635 observers; and more than 60 local and international media with about 700 representatives.
