Information from CEC meeting

Central Election Commission held the next meeting chaired by president, Valdete Daka. 

At the beginning of the meeting, chief executive officer of CECS Enis Halimi informed about the preparations of election process. He said that the preparations are progressing according to plans, meanwhile regarding the process of out of Kosovo voting, he also informed that until early Monday 15 thousand and 200 applications have been received. 

In this meeting, CEC decided on the certification of 21 political entities with total of 685 candidates for deputies for early elections for Assembly of Republic of Kosovo that will take place on 6 October 2019. The director of the Office for Political Parties Registration and Certification, Yll Buleshkaj said that after the review of of applications the Office has verified all documents related to these political entities.

Following the meeting, the Central Election Commission made a decision to accredit the first group of 116 observers to observe the October 6 election, representing the Kosovo Democratic Institute.

It was also announced that the application process to observe the elections for local NGOs ends on 27 September, while for international organizations and missions ends on 1 October. Local and international media interested in observing elections must apply for accreditation by 1 October 2019.

At the end of the meeting, the Central Election Commission made a decision to approve the Instruction for Municipal Election Commissions and Polling Station Committees regarding the documents for identifying the voters at the polling station in the early elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, 6 October 2019. 

According to this Instruction, a valid voting documents are considered all documents of the Republic of Kosovo as provided by Article 90 of the Law on General Elections. 

Also, this Instruction is mandatory for Municipal Election Commissions and Polling Station Committees throughout the Republic of Kosovo.
